Showroom of the Year Winner
For Exceptional Community Involvement

We are thrilled to announce we have been selected as the winner for Exceptional Community Involvement by a Showroom by the Dallas Market Center and Lightovation. Just Lights was chosen from over 700 lighting showrooms in the US and Canada for representing innovation and connection to the community.

“This year’s finalists demonstrated an inspiring commitment to innovation and connection,” said Longo, official media partner for Showroom of the Year. “From elevating the in-store experience to finding new ways to engage their communities, the 2025 Showroom of the Year winners are redefining what it means to be successful in lighting retail. Congratulations to all!”

Just Lights is honored and proud to be an active member of our community.

In 2012, we strategically relocated our enlarged showroom into a former mill building dating back a couple of hundred years in a unique part of downtown Nashua, the Millyard area.  We’ve led revitalization efforts by transforming this once neglected space into a vibrant retail environment, encouraging other local businesses to reinvest locally as well, especially into some of the more neglected, but important, areas of the City.  We strongly believe that a vibrant downtown community is a benefit to all who live and/or work in the area.

We meet with local business owners, both new arrivals and well-established, to assist with neighborhood projects and agendas, such as safety lighting at a new performing arts center, specialty wall-grazing lighting for public murals, a local community college’s interior design program, and a local high school’s technical curriculum’s trade apprenticeship program;  or for more personal business needs such as a lighting plan for task and décor fixtures at a restaurant, salon or jewelry store.  We extend discounting  to these fellow local businesses to help stretch their budget just a little bit further.

In order to create a great network of offerings for our clients, Just Lights has developed many partnerships with other local building trade professionals in our area, such as community developers, contractors, realtors, kitchen and bath/tile showrooms, and the local NH Home Builders Association.

Our decorative and under-cabinet lighting products are prominently displayed in some of our fellow trade showrooms to assist in their leads and direction of those clients to visit our showroom for the lighting portion of their project.  Small “trade shows” are attended by our lighting associates to assist in creating a greater exposure to what is available today for lighting options. Our sales staff works together with our common client and fellow trade staff to ensure a successful overall project.

Just Lights has a history of supporting a few of the many worthwhile non-profit organizations in our area.  Throughout the year, we regularly engage in a variety of outreach efforts and events with philanthropic organizations like the NH Home Builders Association, Great American Downtown, PAL, Nashua Soup Kitchen & Shelter, Habitat for Humanity, Breast Cancer Research, Girls, Inc., Boys & Girls Club, Home Health and Hospice, and the Jimmy Fund, Downtown Art Walk and Artist’s Open House events, amongst many others. Donations of time, product and funds also support various smaller fundraising events throughout the season to benefit memorials and local education efforts.

Our largest donation involvement would be focused on our area’s local building materials re-use program, Habitat for Humanity.  In the past, Nashua’s chapter of the Home Building and Remodeling group also has benefitted from large-scale donation of product for their “yard sale”.  The natural fit for our industry allows discontinued and older model products to be given a new life in some very worthwhile projects.

Our employees have even enjoyed the bonus of personally volunteering at one of the “Build Days” at a neighboring Habitat build site, meeting and working directly with the new homeowners first-hand.

Another worthy recipient of our donated products is a local organization, Harbor Homes, which supports low-income, homeless, and disabled New Hampshire community members with affordable housing, primary and behavioral health care, employment and job training, and supportive services. Their members enjoyed the abundance of lamps made available to them via donation for use in their new home environments.

Just Lights also supports our local arts community by participating in events that host various local artists’ displays in downtown locations to expand the public’s exposure to our local talent, including a well-attended yearly Art Walk and Artist’s Open House Event.

The Just Lights staff has also volunteered time to host a local community college, for a Lighting 101 class as part of their interior design program.  Co-owner Peter Johnson is a master electrician and has also donated his time to the local high school’s technical curriculum to assist in their apprenticeship program.
